Zen and Sand: Day One of Our August Draw Series

We started the morning under clouds, and as always, we rolled with whatever the sky decided to do. We knew our theme for the day was Zen, but the design did not reveal itself until it was finished. By the time it took shape on the beach, the sun had broken through to partly sunny skies, with the blue ocean rolling in behind it.

Warm weather and little wind made for ideal raking conditions, a rare gift this time of year. Everyone who came out to walk with us today got to move through the labyrinth in some of the calmest, clearest conditions we've had all season.

None of this happens without the volunteers who show up to rake. Thank you to everyone who joined us today and helped bring this design to life in the sand. And we don't want to forget our steadfast ambassadors up in the parking lot, who are there to assist with parking and answer questions for everyone who comes to see the labyrinth.

We're not done yet. We'll be back on the beach tomorrow, with the walk starting at 9 AM. Come find us.

See you on the sand.

P.S. You had to look closely to see this special art today. Did you spot it?
