Closing Out the 2026 Summer Season of Circles in the Sand

Our final two labyrinth walks of the season are on Friday, August 14, and Saturday, August 15. Both walks begin at 9 AM, marking the final two days of our summer labyrinth season, and we find ourselves standing on the sand thinking back over everything this season has been.

We have raked dozens of labyrinths onto the beach at Face Rock Wayside this year, each one erased by the tide as intended. Our labyrinths are nontraditional, a single path built on sacred geometry with no dead ends and no wrong turns to take. More than the labyrinths themselves, though, we keep coming back to the people. The wonderful humans (and dogs) who walked these paths with us, who told us what the walk meant to them, who came back again and again, and who became part of this community one draw at a time. Those connections are what the season is really made of.

It has also been a year of growth for Team Circles. Denny, known to so many of you as the Sandman, stepped into retirement this year. We have carried the work forward and, if we may say so, had a wonderful time doing it. Denny's mark on this organization is everywhere in the sand we rake, and we are thrilled to share that he will be back with us on the sand for Saturday's walk, one last time to close out the season together.

None of this happens without our volunteers, the ones directing cars and smiling in the parking lot and the ones out on the sand from first rake to last walker. We are endlessly grateful for the time and care you give to make these mornings possible.

If you have not had the chance to walk with us yet this season, we have two more mornings for you. Join us Friday, August 14 or Saturday, August 15, both starting at 9 AM, at Face Rock Wayside in Bandon, OR.

See you on the sand,

Team Circles
