Upcoming Plans After Our 2022 Summer Season

Trust that an ending is followed by a new beginning.

August 15, 2022 closed our summer season. We were blessed with a glorious summer of beautiful weather, and the friendliest people walked with us. We can’t say thank you enough to all of our new and returning volunteers on parking patrol and groomers on the sand who helped make our season a success. We are grateful beyond words for your love and support.

This is the time of year when we are asked about our schedule for the rest of the year. Our schedules are always based on the tides. Right now we know when the low tides and the high tides are for the rest of the year and with that information, we can decide when we might be able to have two or three days together that look good for sunset walks. Between September and April we prefer sunset walks in part because the days are shorter. Weather is the main factor that prevents us from posting a full schedule after August. While we know what the tides look like months in advance it’s the rain that makes planning difficult because rain will always cancel a walk. We can plan an impromptu series if we know we will have a stretch of dry weather and not too much wind. These are always posted on our website at least 48 hours in advance.

That being said, we have a few dates planned for this fall. We will be on the sand this Saturday, September 10th for a 6:30 PM sunset walk at Face Rock Wayside. This walk will coincide with the Bandon Cranberry Festival. It is a great time to visit Bandon and take a walk on the beach with us. Our booth at the Bandon Farmers and Artisans Market will be open on Friday and Saturday, 10 AM – 3 PM. We will have some cranberry-inspired apparel and our booth mate, Mountain to Sea Gifts will have some red jewelry too. Our shuttle will run between the Bandon Community Center and the Face Rock parking lot about every 15 minutes, starting at about 5:45 PM and running until dark. If you don’t see the shuttle in the parking lot, wait a few minutes, it circles back often.

Our fantastic sponsors in Florence, Oregon are hosting us for our 5th annual draw on Saturday, October 8th in front of Driftwood Shores Resort and Conference Center. Check back with us soon for more information about this labyrinth walk.

See you on the sand.
