The First Paths of the Season: Circles in the Sand Returns

Season 12 Begins

There is something about the first lines drawn in the sand each season that feels both brand new and deeply familiar. On Sunday, April 19, 2026, we begin our 12th season of Circles in the Sand, and we could not be more excited to return to the beach, rakes in hand, hearts open to whatever unfolds.

This year opens with a three-day draw series, April 19, 20, and 21. Walk times are 9:00 AM on the 19th and 20th, and 10:00 AM on the 21st. As always, those early morning hours offer a quiet kind of magic, where the tide, the sky, and the sand come together in ways that never quite repeat.

We are looking forward to welcoming you back to the shoreline near Bandon, where each labyrinth invites reflection, connection, and a bit of wonder.

What’s New This Season

With a new season comes a few changes, and we want to make sure you arrive feeling prepared and relaxed.

Our shuttle service has been discontinued this year. We know many of you appreciated this option, and we share your disappointment, but we are grateful for the years it served our community so well.

Parking will be a bit different this season:

  • Limited parking is available at Face Rock Wayside, our home beach

  • Additional public parking can be found .5 miles down the road and at the Bandon Community Center

There is also a new $10 day-use parking fee at Face Rock Wayside. Payment can be made by QR code on site, or you may use an Oregon State Parks 12-month parking permit if you already have one. If not, passes are available online or in person at Shore Acres State Park north of Bandon.

We recommend giving yourself a little extra time to park and walk in so your morning can begin unhurried.

A Note About the Weather

It is April on the Oregon coast, which means we welcome whatever the sky brings. Rain is always a possibility, especially during these early-season days. If weather conditions require us to cancel a draw, we will post updates on our website.

A quick check before you head out can save you a soggy surprise.

Stepping Into the Season

The beginning of a season always carries a special kind of energy. There is anticipation, a touch of uncertainty, and a deep sense of gratitude for the opportunity to gather again.

See you on the sand.
