Reflections on the River

In September we created a labyrinth lined with luminarias in Salem, Oregon. We were honored to participate in the Willamette Vital Health’s 8th annual Reflections on the River program at Riverfront Park. Luminarias were available for purchase and decorating for those who wanted to reflect on the loss of a loved one. We held space for people of all ages as they walked the lighted labyrinth and were soothed with beautiful vocal music by the Salem Threshold Singers. It was a truly moving experience for all of us.

After laying out the labyrinth, we asked the event staff where the locals like to go for lunch. They pointed us to a few options within walking distance, and we decided on Venti’s. It turned out to be a wonderful choice — we enjoyed a delicious meal and even had the chance to meet the proprietors, Dino and Leslie, whose hospitality made the experience all the more memorable.

We hope to be back in Salem again next year for Reflections on the River.
